Winter Tea Recipe
Making your own herbal tea is fast, easy, delicious and an easy step on your zero waste journey. Everything in my tea I bought in bulk or harvested and dried from my garden. Blend together a bunch of lovely herbs and flower petals- not necessary to measure, it's cup is delightfully unique.
Dried elderberries- this is so healthy and bright for winter and a powerful immune booster.
Rose hips- rich in vitamin C and adds a bright healthy flavor and deep color.
Bulk herb- Spearmint or Peppermint are good choices, you need something bulky to round out your blend and mint is a refreshing addition.
Lavender- helps you relax, sleep and adds an earthy flavor and scent.
Chamomile- great to add to your night time blend as helps with insomnia naturally.
Calendula petals- add a rich color and complex flavor.
Rose Petals- are lovely with their intoxicating scent of a June day.
You can keep each ingredient in a separate jar or make a blend. Spoon a few teaspoons into a pot and brew a lovely cup of summer.
Boil a kettle of water, put your tea blend in a tea strainer and let steep for 5 minutes. sip and enjoy.
